Halloween Upcycled Crafts
Mummy Luminaries
Supplies: Mod Podge Matte, Glass Jars, Cheesecloth (at least 6 yards), Circle Punch, Black Cardstock, Foam Brush, Scissors, and Flameless Candle or Tea Lights.
Instructions:
1. Clean and wash your jars, removing any labels or adhesive. Let dry.
2. Cut the cheesecloth into shapes.
3. Add Mod Podge to the glass, and start wrapping the cheesecloth around the jar. Let dry.
4. Keep layering to get the mummy "effect," letting dry between layers.
5. Apply Mod Podge to the inside lip of the jar and fold the cheesecloth over the rim. Mod Podge down and let dry.
6. Repeat with as many jars as you like. Give Each jar a final coat of Mod Podge to stiffen the cheesecloth, and let dry.
7. Use circle punches to cut circle eye shapes out of the black cardstock.
8. Add the eyes with Mod Podge and let dry.
9. Pick up some flameless candles or tea lights and you're ready to display your Halloween luminaries!
Candy Monsters
Supplies: 1 Liter Plastic Bottle(s), Sharpie, Paint, Paint Brushes, and Scissors.
Instructions:
1. Clean and wash your Plastic Bottles, removing any labels or adhesive. Let dry.
2. Draw a ghoulish face onto your bottle.
3. Cut off the top of the bottle as well as an opening for your monsters mouth.
4. Paint your monster!
Toilet Paper Roll Bat
Supplies: Colored Paper (black, white, red and purple), Toilet Paper Rolls, Glue, and Scissors.
Instructions:
1. Download the printable template for all pieces needed, and print out.
2. Cut out all the template pieces.
3. Cut the toilet paper rolls in half.
4. Use the glue on the back side of the black rectangle and attach it to the half toilet paper roll. (This will be the bat's body!)
5. Glue the fangs to the top of the red mouth, with the pointy ends facing downwards.
6. Glue the mouth to the bottom of the black toilet paper roll.
7. Use the template eyes or googly eyes and attach them to the top, center of the paper roll.
8. Secure the ears to the top, inside part of the toilet paper roll.
9. Use the glue the center of the bat's wings, then press the wings to the back of the bat's body!
Tin Can Ghost
Supplies: Large Tin Can, Hammer, Awl or Screwdriver, White Paint / Spray Paint, Black Craft Paint, White Ribbon, Hot Glue Gun, Scissors, Twine or Fishing Line, and a Paperclip.
Instructions:
1. Clean and wash your tin can, removing any labels or adhesive. Let dry.
2. Paint your tin white.
3. Use the awl and hammer to punch a hole in the top of the can.
4. Trace in a ghostly face and fill it in with black paint.
5. Cut 24 inch lengths of ribbon.
6. Glue the ribbon all around the tin can.
7. Cut a 12 inch length of fishing line for the hanger and tie it in a loop. Thread on the paper clip as a stopper.
8. Pull the loop through the top of the can and hang your ghost!
Egg Carton Craft
Supplies: Glue – hot glue is always going to work best when working with egg cartons and buttons. But you can also use an extra-strong glue. Just make sure to let it thoroughly dry and press and hold for the glue to take.
