Lorain County Community Alliance
The Lorain County Community Alliance is a council of governments, formed under the Ohio Revised Code and made up of political jurisdictions and organizations working together for the benefit of the citizens of Lorain County and the entire region.

Lorain County Fair
Begun in 1846 and located in Wellington, Ohio, the Lorain County Fair is Ohio’s second largest county fair. The goal of the Fair has always been to educate people about animals and to hold a family-oriented event representing high standards set over many years.

Lorain County Joint Vocational School
Founded in 1971, the Lorain County JVS offers accredited career-technical education for high school students in grades 9-12 and adult learners. Through our programs, our students gain the skills, knowledge, and training needed to be a success in their careers. Located on a 100-acre campus in Oberlin, Ohio, LCJVS is one of the largest career tech schools in the state.

Lorain County Metro Parks
The Lorain County Metropolitan Park District was created in 1957 by the Lorain County Probate Court, under the authority of Ohio's innovative, time-proven Park District Law of 1917. Beginning with the donation of Mill Hollow in 1958 by Dorothy Bacon DeMuth, and the gifts of the Burrell Family, Otto Schoepfle, John Caley, the City of Lorain, Buddy Miller, Eric Nord and others, the park district has steadily grown to over 9,000 acres. The Park District is supported by a 1.6-mill levy property tax, earned income and a variety of sponsors and gifts. Capital improvements are financed by maintaining operating costs below annual revenues and utilizing grants, donations, and trusts.

Lorain County Public Health Department
Lorain County Public Health (LCPH) is a local public health district that serves Lorain County, Ohio. We are governed by our own board, who are appointed by local mayors, city managers, and township trustees. Our funding sources include grants, fees, and a local levy that make up about a quarter of our budget. We are responsible for all cities and townships in Lorain County except the City of Vermilion, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Erie County Health Department.

Lorain County Township Association
The original name of the organization was Lorain County Association of Township Trustees and Clerks. On December 15, 2005 its present name was adopted unanimously. Archie McDowell, Henrietta Township, represented the LCCAT&C at the organization of the Ohio Township Association in June of 1928.

The Mental Health, Addiction and Recovery Services (MHARS) Board of Lorain County brings together the expertise, resources, and proud histories of the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board of Lorain County (ADAS) founded in 1989 and the Lorain County Board of Mental Health (LCBMH) founded in 1967. The MHARS Board was established in July of 2019.
