A big Thank You to all who participated in Lorain County Beautiful Day! This year’s event was held on Saturday, May 20th, 2023. This is a county-wide event that brings together volunteers for a day of litter cleanup, planting and beautification projects.

- 1,424 volunteers
- 20 Communities, Lorain County Metro Parks, Second Harvest Food Bank, Marion L. Steel High School and Lorain County Administration Building Departments.
This includes numerous non-profit organizations, community leaders, scout troops and businesses. - 550 bags of litter collected (in 30 gallon bags)
- 22.01 tons of trash collected by Republic Waste for LCBD weekend cleanup
- 49.75 miles of roadways were cleaned
- 76.5 acers of parks were cleaned
- 7.95 miles of bike / nature trails cleaned
- 16 playgrounds cleaned
- 1.25 miles of waterways cleaned
- 2 Community Buildings & Homes Painted/Renovated
- 11 bags of plastic bottles collected and recycled
- 10 bags of aluminum cans collected and recycled
- 44 tires collected for recycling (that's over 1,200 lbs. of tires)
- 139 gardens or green spaces planted
- 3 Edible gardens planted
- 32 trees planted
- 491 flats of flowers planted
- 200 baskets of flowers hung
- 250 seedlings/shrubs planted
- 4 pallets of Electronic Scrap Collected for Recycling
